    Study on UOF and race

This was on Greg Ellefritiz's blog. The TLR version is that OIS will mirror the department's racial makeup. If a department is 70% white, 20% black, and 10% hispanic, roughly 70% of OIS will involve white officers, 20% black, and 10% hispanic. The race of those shot will mirror who is committing violent crimes in an area.

    Good stuff.
And, for someone who does not assume officer bias, not surprising.

There Is No Epidemic of Racist Police Shootings

A new study debunks a common myth.

The Democratic presidential candidates have revived the anti-police rhetoric of the Obama years. Joe Biden’s criminal-justice plan promises that after his policing reforms, black mothers and fathers will no longer have to fear when their children “walk[] the streets of America” — the threat allegedly coming from cops, not gangbangers. President Barack Obama likewise claimed during the memorial for five Dallas police officers killed by a Black Lives Matter–inspired assassin in July 2016 that black parents were right to fear that their child could be killed by a police officer whenever he “walks out the door.” South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg has said that police shootings of black men won’t be solved “until we move policing out from the shadow of systemic racism.” Beto O’Rourke claims that the police shoot blacks “solely based on the color of their skin.”

A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences demolishes the Democratic narrative regarding race and police shootings, which holds that white officers are engaged in an epidemic of racially biased shootings of black men. It turns out that white officers are no more likely than black or Hispanic officers to shoot black civilians.

Not a criticism. Isn't that kind of a logical statement? Is there an argument or something I am missing?

I think the argument is that no one ethnic group of cops is more "trigger happy" than any other.

...and there never was. No trend, no systemic biproduct of a racist process, nothing of that sort in any way.

It is, but having the numbers refutes illogical arguments other groups want to make.

They get around the numbers by arguing that regardless of the actions by individual officers of whatever race or ethnicity, there is systemic racism regardless.

No matter how much you throw facts, audio and video, eyewitness accounts and grand jury findings into the mix, some folks refuse to alter their position. Unfortunately, various political entities and officials pander to this world view and as a result it is a giant festering wound which never has an opportunity to heal.

White cops are racist and routinely execute unarmed, innocent black men not involved in any sort of wrong doing, or at the very least persecute/target blacks for enforcement to a greater extent, thus shooting blacks more often. Best case scenario is that white cops are afraid of blacks due to centuries of racist practices that built an unconscious bias, and thus are more likely to shoot them than a white subject in the exact same situation.

That's the BLM/Antifa/Democrat party line that is contradicted by this study. Not sure how you missed the whole BLM movement/cops are racist thing over the last few years.
