I think I can definitely do 290+ if I learn to manage my time better. I have a really hard time making full use of the time for the 10 and 15 yard sections.

    Attempt #1 - 286
    Attempt #2 - 287

    Ran this again yesterday.

    G19.4 in RCS Morrigan @ 3:30 concealed.

    10 rds @ 15 yds - under 10s
    10 rds @ 10 yds - under 9s
    10 rds @ 5yds - 5.18s

    Total score - 268

I went faster than I should have at 15 yards and yet again I went over time at 5 yards. Need to work on my time management and cadence.

Week 249: HiTS Super Test and Advanced Super Test

I shot this twice today. Both times were with a Springfield 9mm Range Officer Operator, X300U, Trijicon HDs, out of my duty ALS. Advanced super test.

    15 yds = 90 - 1x in 13.30
    10 yds = 98 - 5x in 8.92
    5 yds = 96 - 2x in 5.37

    Total of 284 in 27.67

From 15 my hits were all low. I need to contact trijicon about a shorter front sight on this gun. This drill really opened my eyes on the POA/POI issue on this.

From 5 yds, I botched my draw, then didn’t get my thumb on the safety right, and it nudged up enough to stop the trigger. So that sucked.

At the end of my range day I shot it again:

    15 yds = 94 - 2x in 13.21
    10yds = 98 - 3x in 6.05
    5 yds = 95 - 0x in 3.74

    Total of 287 in 23.06

Not sure what I learned yet, but I know I learned. I shoot better after warming up. I need to spend more time shooting from the 15. I should manage time better..... I need a new front sight.

Also, I specifically saw my recoil track going up and to the right on the 5 yard string. I’ll have to work on that.

I’ll be shooting this again tomorrow. I love this DOTW.

Didn't do quite as well as I hoped. Still can't seem to use more than 10 seconds on the 15 yard portion. I think my sense of time is quite inaccurate.

Shot “Advanced Super Test” after lunch on indoor range.
Gen5 17 w/ Ameriglo “yellow front, FBI rear”, out of a Level 3 Safariland holster.
    71 points at 15, 96@10 and 87@5-one late @5, so a miss=total of 254. I can do better.
Noted need to use time better at 15 yards-shot it in around 10 seconds. Noted distinct low left grouping.
I can and will do better.

I took another shot(pun intended) at this-same gear, to include Level 3 Safariland holster. Shot in the AM, with no “warmup”. Made all times, but “missed it by that much”...267 points.
I’ll hit this again, even though the time period for drill has expired.
I noted I could still use the time better, especially at 15 yards-be patient with trigger press...

Just missed my shot at redemption
Rushed/called rounds 8 & 9 at 15 yards. I saw the sight go low, but I couldn't stop my press/change rhythm in time.
