An incident involving a stolen gun caused a commotion at Walmart on Skibo Road on Thursday afternoon.
About 3 p.m., Fayetteville police spokeswoman Asia Cannon said, inaccurate information based on radio scanner traffic began circulating about a shooting at the Walmart. Officers arrived and discovered that a man had grabbed a gun off another man who was open-carrying the weapon. The man who grabbed the gun then ran off.

The only time I (very occasionally) OC here in (western) NC is at oh dark thirty out with my dog for a late night walk. Sometimes it's just more convenient to do so. (The only light is provided by my headlamp.) Most all of the time I carry AIWB, per usual.

But... but... OC is criminal repellant!
NM is an open carry state with quite a few practitioners, I haven't come across a single one of them that gave off a competent vibe.
Every single one I can remember was slovenly, unaware and so out of shape that they get winded swapping out for a clean plate at the buffet.

Sadly, I live in Fayetteville. I am not surprised this happened, especially in this particular Walmart. I see at least one person OC’ing at my local Walmart 7/10 visits. You laugh about the Uncle Mike’s Holsters but that seems to be the norm here. Those and cheap Blackhawk Holsters. It’s really sad...

I see far more Serpas at action pistol matches than I'd like to. (Zero would of course be the optimal number.) Unfortunately, that particular flavor of derp is pretty widespread, and extends beyond just your basic open carry idiots.
