My first department-issued handgun, in 1993, was a 4" model 15 that looked like hell but shot like a laser. I never actually carried it on duty during our revolver era -- I had a pair of L-frames, 686 and 586, for duty carry with magnums -- but I would have felt well equipped with that .38, if personal guns weren't an option.
