It's actually much nicer than the image conveys. Enrique's work is very, very clean and he is a master of his tools.

I'm a noobie's noobie when it comes to blades but having fun learning from all the great info here at P-F. Just arrived this week a new Sage 5 and Opinel 8. The Sage sliced newspaper and thumbs out of the box. The Opinel was slicing newspaper after a session on the Sharpmaker. Now each thumb has been sliced. One with the Chaparral, the other with the Sage. The follow through when flicking open landed on the edge.

I brought my Keen Edge trainer to class last week and showed it to my instructor. He said “Nice.” and stabbed me with it hard. “You’ve got to move, man. Get off the X. Nice trainer. I like this knife.”

Folding knives (or anything sharp) pic thread

Hi Guys - I figured I could find some good advice here.

My "collection" is pretty pitiful, really, and I find myself in the market for a new pocket knife.

I currently have a: 40+ year old Swiss Victorinox (Rostfrei!) small steel, a Kershaw 1660 folder, and a Benchmade Mini-Grip which was gifted to me by @LSP552. I also have a couple SAKs but they are both too big (might be called a "Tinker"?) and too small (not sure of the other but it's tiny).

What I like about what I have: The serrated blade of the mini-Grip works for me very well for what I do (cutting boxes, occasional cable ty wrap, or shipping strap.) I like it's black surface. But the scales (hope that is the right word) on the Mini-grip are a bit too wide for my work pants. The thinness of the Victorinox slips into my pocket, but it is a bit small. I like the thinness of the 1660 but the blade design never quite sat well with me and I do not know why. Plus it is non-reversible as far as carry goes (I am a lefty.)

So I am looking at options.

Ideally I would like a knife that is

    - suitable for left handed pocket carry via a clip
    - thinner or at least flatter than a Mini-Grip in cross section
    - capable of being carried, more or less safely, in a pocket with keys etc. if needs be.
    - generally a clip point with a partial serrated cutting edge
    - be maybe 75% of the length of a Mini-Grip in size, when opened

I looked online and found a couple options but have no experience with them:

This looks cool but I have no idea whether this could work. Cheap though:

I like this Spyderco but it doesn't have a clip:

This one is nice but kinda spendy at $200:

    Thoughts???

Also serrated models of the Dragonfly 2 available. Great little knives (bigger than the Manbug you posted)

Edit to add a couple hasty pics of Dragonfly 2 (with a black wire clip) and a mini Grip (with G10 scales and a deep carry clip).

Lots of other Spyderco choices. If you are trying to keep the cost down there is the Delica https://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-C11P...s%2C186&sr=8-8 or the Native https://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Nati...gateway&sr=8-7

Do you have any lock preferences/requirements?
