    92 slide transplants

Seeing the Centac thread, I'm reminded that I've always wanted a 92G Centurion, but don't got the $$$.
So, as a summer project, I'm pondering the following.
    I've got a 92D Centurion, and a 92G compact*.
Plan is to swap the slides between the two, plus the sear, hammer & ect from the G frame to the D frame, and the hammer & spacer from the D to the G.

The hopeful end result would be a 92D Compact & a 92G Centurion.

    Thoughts

*FS with G conversion, to be technical.

I had a 92 Compact that I had night sights installed (back when Tool Tech did that). I decided I wanted a laser grip on my carry gun, but they didn’t make one. I bought a 92D Centurion on the cheap and swapped slide and guts. Both guns performed flawless, without issue. You should be good to go.

Update: Done. I now own a Centurion, and a 92D Compact.
Took both to the range this morning, and each ran 50 rounds flawlessly- though I can't say the same about my accuracy.
I'll probably focus more on the D this summer- I shoot it a tad better than the Centurion.

I am bumping this thread to ask a related question.

I have a 92SB Compact. I'd like to install a 92D Centurion slide. I have been Googling my wee stubby digits off.

    Is this do-able and safe?

    Many thanks.

@e_stern is having login problems, but he texted the steps to me.

He says you can swap the slides, but you need to remove the sear, sear spring, and sear pin from the frame you're using the D slide on.

That should turn most 92 models into a D, just with a spur hammer, right?
