I wasn't, you bastard! Already picked up a 5" half-lug .357 and a good old fashioned full-lug 6" stainless this year. I clearly have no need of this. But the mulling, or waffling...

If Ruger does a .44 special with a 3" barrel and Novak fixed sights like the Wiley Clapp Gp100 then I'll have to cave and get one.

It's only a chop saw and dovetail cutter away...

I'm clearly all set for GP100s generally.

I'm not a fan of the unfluted cylinder aesthetically.

For defense, a .45 full of HST+P or Super is lighter, more effective against any woods critter, holds more rounds, and I can almost certainly shoot it as well or better.

For hunting, see above. Alternately, a .357 I already have will send a higher-SD bullet with a lot more hate than a .44 SPL, leading to greater penetration, etc.

Waffling settled...for now.
