There was a good article somewhere and I can't find it now. Here's some newspaper scans from 47 though. Writers had a special flair for the dramatic in those days.

Damn. That's a tragic bit of history there. That was a man that needed killing. Thanks for posting that.
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

A time when the public also understood the concept of "needed killing".

I had an ER nurse in a class. I noticed she kept taking all head shots. Her response when asked why, "'I've seen too many people who have been shot in the chest putting up a fight in the ER." Point taken.

Neither will I, and I don't exactly consider myself a fashionable or dapper dresser. (Hell, a bunch of my clothes come from surplus stores...)

His revolver isn't in this picture but he was definitely a man who used one. Notice the hole in his hat from said fight.

Looks like it was a good thing ol' S. B. Noe wasn't a few inches taller or that round would have given him an extra, unwelcome, orifice.

Didn't the guy on the far left go on to play the skipper on Gilligan's Island? Bwaahaha! (C'mon, ya gotta admit he's practically a dead ringer for Alan Hale, Jr.)

    I can pee outside.
    Can't forget about Elmer Keith.

His 'Keith' style bullets are legendary.

    Bill Jordan, and his magnum.

Notice the position of his reloads. No speedloader here.

I would say that 19 looks like a J frame in Bill Jordan’s hand but I’m not sure that’s even small enough.
