He holds them up and says "These? Clipping wires on suspected bombs. I've done 3 this month"

Driving back on I-10 from Tucson on my way home to SW Louisiana last Sunday, I stopped for supper in what was apparently the only open non-fast food restaurant in Van Horn. I ordered and then turned my attention to the TV news and learned of this. I was already facing the entrance, and decided to keep more than one eye peeled.

    RIP to the fallen agent.

Two Agents have severe blunt force "accidents" in the same place but 20 minutes apart...

Agent #1 responds to a sensor alert, goes radio silent.
Agent #2 arrives about 15 minutes later and also goes radio silent.
Another 20 minutes or so goes by and Agent #2 radios for help.

Theory down here is Agent #1 was interviewing someone on foot on the side of I-10.
That someones "ride" showed up and ran over the Agent.
Before they could get everything loaded Agent #2 arrives and is jumped and thrown or pushed into a very deep concrete culvert where he sustained severe head trauma.

So they were separate and on foot when they fell or were pushed into a culvert?

#1 responded to a sensor alert and wouldn't answer his radio.
His backup arrived a few minutes later and also went silent for quite a while until he called for help.
The culvert is a concrete bridge over a dry wash that's about 15' deep, both were found at the bottom of it.
