    New Lucky Gunner video -Sad

Chris at Lucky Gunner has a new video out, ‘My Revolver Quit Revolving’. It’s not a bad video, the production quality is right there with the rest of their stuff, it’s just a sad topic. Doubly sad for me because one of the broke revolvers is a GP100 which I have and the other is a S&W 43C which I really want. I know what’s he’s doing, people do need to know that revolvers can and do break but why did it have to be about one I want so bad? Maybe he just has some bad revolver karma that needs to be exorcised. I sure hope he doesn’t do one on my 642 PC edition!!

Yes, revolvers can malfunction, and when it happens, they can go down hard. I like the Jim Cirillo solution. Two or three revolvers. ;-)

    I am not kidding.

I busted one of those Wiley Clapp GP100’s. Ruger fixed it fast for me.

And this is why, when you pick a carry gun, you should be working on having at least one other copy of it as soon as you can. This goes for any carry gun, not just revolvers.

Revolvers can break, but they're not ammo sensitive, which is what people should say instead of claiming they don't break or don't malfunction.

It is a common subject for the Revolver Round up and other classes and discussions we have about Revolvers. Here is the revolver "Reliability" reality. A clean well maintained Revolver with good factory defense ammo is extremely reliable in almost any situation. Many of the trainers and serious folks I converse with are hard pressed to find situations where a revolver failed in an actual shooting by LEO's and citizens outside of getting a hammer hung up in clothing or a non-mechanical failure. However; they do not do well and will often crash during a long training day or multi-day class. Polar opposites with semi autos. Often we see malfunctions and failures in actual shooting incidents, yet they run for thousands of rounds issue free by throwing a bit of lube on them with no real cleaning. Compound this the smaller that semi auto gets.
Just a Hairy Special Snowflake supply clerk with no field experience, shooting an Asymetric carbine as a Try Hard. Snarky and easily butt hurt. Favorite animal is the Cape Buffalo....likely indicative of a personality disorder.

DB, your answer even further deepens my dilemma regarding: "Should I buy a small revolver, or another H&K-ish model?" I'm still in love with my H&KP30SK. Which reminds me - have you shelved your small H&K for good? You've not mentioned it lately.

Good answer - the only thing that is holding me up is the financial end. I'm working once again, soooooo, maybe soon.

I hear you. Lack of funds holds me up from getting everything.
