Police work is dead now. Kaput, broken, stupid, verbotten. If my grandsons ever come to me and tell me that they want to be Policemen I will immediately lock them in the closet till they get that foolishness out of their system. It once was a noble, fun filled career in which we were able to do alot to make the world a better place. Not anymore. And that's a shame because there are many people that need the help of the Police. The only way I would encourage anyone interested in making law enforcement a career is to go federal. But maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe the fed's are just as bad off as the locals are.

I'm glad that I'm retired and gone because I wouldn't last 15 minutes today. I had an old cop who had a couple of 1911 shootings under his belt tell me that I wasn't shit as a cop if the bad guys didn't run into their cribs when I drove down the street. Sadly, the cops are the ones that run into their cars when the turds are out now.
