The weather has been too good not to ride. The traction was great. Some snow, but no ice.

Amazing. The traction from those big, soft tires is like riding on a dirt trail. I was shocked: better than my own two feet.

Most def helped me hate winter just a little bit less.

It's legitimate ski season here. And there have been some pretty good turns to be farmed in the backcountry.

But I've been getting out with the furry bearded beast on the fat/plus bike quite a bit to fill in between new snow days.

Surly Ice Cream Truck? They're a really nice versatile fat bike. If my Wozo ever breaks, the ICT will be on the short list.

Spot on, Taadski. It’s a fun ride. A bit chunky, but solid and easy to maneuver. The only thing I’d change is the 2x10–which the new ones did, to 1x12. JMO. But I love it.

I also love your little friend in the pics; that’s the meaning of life, right there, a bike and a dog to share the trail with.

Pro-tip; you can defrost a frozen front derailleur by peeing on it.

Ask me how I know this...

And I thought working on people's *guitars* had a high risk of bodily fluid contact...

That’s an old photo from an early spring dirt-road ride in Vermont. Air temp below freezing but the puddles in direct sunshine are liquid, so you accumulate frozen mud. Clip-on fenders are a lifesaver.
