Nick was kind enough at the last range trip to let me examine his new knife (see how I said that without it going into the ditch) damn thing is small and hella sharp. Great little tool in my book, it's generated more interest in me to get away from my ZT folder and transition to a fixed blade....more money to training and equipment.

Race you to the mailbox... mine shipped today as well. Guess he is working through his orders pretty quickly.

My go to big blade for the past couple of years is a Ka-Bar Becker BK7. I thump on it pretty hard, and it stays sharp with minimal upkeep.

My newest knife is a Blind Horse Knives Woodsman Pro. I reworked the edge geometry a little to get it the way I like it. I'm looking forward to my next camping trip to really put it through its paces.

You'll find his email address there. It's as easy as writing an email telling him what you want.

Make sure you mention you saw his stuff on Pistol-Forum.com.

Hope you don't mind a few questions...

    Blade material?
    Handle material?
The blade looks pretty straight compared to the Clinch Pick. Was the sweep taken out of the blade to make to easier to produce or for functional reasons?

    Thanks

I've got the brother to BOM's set.... produced at the same time and shipped on the same day. I've been carrying it since I opened the box.

Blade Material is O1 Tool Steel. Not sure of the hardness, but I can tell you my knife has a wicked sharp edge on it.

Handle is Canvas Micarta that is bead blasted.

I'm going to venture out and guess that the upsweep was taken out in order to create enough difference between Paul's knife and Southnarc's design for the CP. Perhaps Southnarc can chime in, as he authorized Paul to produce these since they were so close to the CP design.

I've also noticed that the Paul Moore version's grip is more flat and less bulb-like than the CP, but thats only looking at pictures.

Maybe Todd or someone coming to AFHF April 2012 here in Albuquerque that has a CP, will be kind enough to let me inspect it side by side to BOM's and my knives... otherwise I'll have to wait for the next Shivworks production run this fall.

You missed it in Phoenix during ECQC when I was comparing my CP with Troy's BOB.

The BOB handle is a little longer and much flatter than the "egg" handle of the CP. The blade seems a little longer, but that might be appearance due to it being straighter.

I prefer the CP, but if I didn't have one, I would definitely be carrying a BOB.
