I tried to reprofile and sharpen my OG Clinch Pick using the Sharpmaker with diamond rods. It took a long time, and I still don't have a backbevel that allows me to make a 30deg edge. I gave up and ordered a ChinaPick 2.0 in black.

I need another mid-sized fixed blade like another hole in the head, but I like it. Although I am put off by the blade thickness. IMO, you sacrifice cutting ability at 3/16" for no good reason, and make it heavier.

And how does the edge hold up? My experience is that 1095 is such a simple steel that it can do great, but a lot of people leave it soft (looking at you, ESEE), and doesn't have the edge retention that I like.

I have not put it through any hard use, so I cannot say how the edge holds up. I did a little re-profiling on a Work Sharp Precision sharpener, it came ground pretty "toothy" at 25 degrees. I reduced it to about 22 degrees and put a finer edge on it and it's now sharp as f**k. :-)
