Glock 19X?

Well, it didn't take long for me to give in and try my hand at a chop. Slapped my RMRed Gen5 19 slide on it and it's perfect for me. The reloads are smoother without that front cutout.

Man, I wish Glock would put a Gen5 34 slide on a Gen5 26 frame. Just don’t ruin it with front cocking serrations, tho - now that’s a ridiculous thing to do to a gun.

But much like the author I’d be willing to bet money if they released a 19L of sorts, they wouldn’t be able to keep up with the demand and could move the same number of units in about half the time (provided production and availability were adequate).

Not going to lie, hearing such good things about how well it shoots kinda makes me want one. But I figure why not just get a 17.5 and have the extra sight radius.

They continue to say (as they did in the TFB post -- and they could very well be right) that Glock would sell even more 17S/19L configurations, despite the broader market not ever really giving any indication (via dollars spent) that they're really into it. I say this as one of the six people that bought a P320C-FLS (compact grip module with full length slide) before SIG dumped them through CDNN.

Perhaps Glock is pulling a 42/43 thing here -- sell a bunch of 19Xs to everybody and then a couple years later turn around and sell a bunch of 19Ls to the exact same people.

That’s what I would do if I ran GLOCK, Inc.

Hell, Sig developed the P320 Carry (Full length grip with compact slide) supposedly at the request of police officers.

Full size grip with a shorter slide ... 1911 Commander, SIG P220 Carry, Beretta PX4, all those FN (alphabet soup) guns, HK P30, well just about everybody makes one. People seem to live in such a finite "Glock Universe" that something so common seems odd to them.
