As I understand it, its not uncommon for companies to trademark names and such before the idea even gets off the drawing board just to lock in the name. For all we know the Glock X isn't even a prototype yet. Then again trademarking something risks people getting wind of it early, like in this case. Maybe we'll find out at SHOT.
Basically, I don't see any reason to get excited until there's an official announcement.

I'll be shooting one of these in mid-December in a torture test.
Pure speculation here, but maybe it has something to do with that rotating barrel action Glock patent filing that surfaced a while back? That's the only legitimately 'new' thing I can think of that's worth of an 'X' designation. Or they just like the sound of it and are registering it to shelve until they can find a good use for it.
Well I hope it's a 17 slide on a 19 frame. I homebrewed my own but I prefer the 19 grip.
And since I'm submitting a wish list, no finger grooves.
