    Mostly good read

Really nice job that self described hippie did with that piece. He should have probably gone 9mm though IMO.

Bear spray practice... 5 yds max range. Not very impressive.

I've disposed of small cans of expired OC by discharging them here on the property, but I'm saving the two cans of expired bear spray for trip up to the national Forest.
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

Ok, I am only familiar with Counter Assault Bear Spray. I've sprayed a bunch of live and trainers. The trainers only go 8 to 10 feet and are not impressive. The live cans go 25 feet, the fog is impressive, and you can taste it in your nose or on your lips.

During crew training we've chased roofer off roofs 300 feet away, made the other folks on the compound tingle from 500 to 1000 feet away (we were like 8 cans into the live training when we got shut down).

You need to study with a skunk, they seem to do pretty well aiming.

Spending a week in grizzly country

I'll be spending next week in NW Wyoming and SW Montana. It doesn't get more grizzly than that. I need to sort through my options: 1911s in 45 ACP, various plastic 40s and 9s, and some 357 revolvers. I best settle on something and get ammo testing done pronto. Decisions, decisions...
