The 10-10 seems to be the last non-MIM gun. I like the looks of the standard barrel over the heavy one.

I was browsing some online. I found some tapered barrel square butts and heavy barrel round butts. I think I want a tapered barrel to leave alone and just be retro-cool and a heavy barrel round butt to have trimmed back to 3". I doubt I'd shoot any of them enough to need to care about MIM or anything else.

But then I found some West German Sig pistols and the K-frames are on the back burner.

I'd like to find a K Frame Model 15 with a 2" barrel myself.

Me too. I want to find one in good mechanical shape that’s fugly. I have some custom work I’d like to have done. Think 315NG sights on a 2” 15.

I've got an excellent condition Combat Magnum that I'd like to keep in its current state (it's a retired work gun). Personally, I WANT to find another with a worn finish, chewed up grips, etc and getting it spiffed up with a nickel-boron or nickel-Teflon finish so I can use it however I see fit.

Great buy! You can't go wrong with a good S&W .38 sp. When I bring my model 15 out everyone really enjoys shooting it. Now you need to look for a model 18. It makes a great understudy to the 15.

I really should pick up a model 10 while they can still be found for $300.

My google-fu is weak. Do tell, where are these places? I know J&G has them but a lot of the cheaper ones require gunsmithing or serious inspection afaik.
