Love it guys. Despite ToddG's inevitable protestations , everyone should have a 1911.

It is not his. Looking at shadows on the ground, most would think that somebody is holding a timer. Alternatively, it could be that somebody is holding a gun to Todd's head forcing him to shoot a 1911. Only few know the true answer.

I recognize the left shadow. It's true, shadows take ten pounds off the camera!

This was probably the smoothest and best shooting gun that (was) in my collection, a Rock River 1911:

And tied for 2nd place, a Les Baer Premier II and a Thunder Ranch Special.
I had them built without the front serrations, I like a clean slide.

This is a full-house gun done by David Sams. Pics were done for the original owner by Jim Keeney.

I am not the first owner, so it comes with FCS. Other than that, it is divine, as it is both accurate (1.47" ten-shot group at fifty yards from the Ransom Rest) and reliable. It is a PPC gun, but I would not hesitate to carry it once I replaced the snake wood grips with the G10 grips that also accompanied it. It is chambered in 9x19. With the tungsten FLGR, muzzle rise is as close to nil as can be imagined.

I need to run it through the 2,000-round challenge.

Anyhow, gotta go clean my Springfield Professional. You know how those finicky match-grade 1911s are...

Heh. You'll need to put on asbestos gloves and snap it up out of the burning longship when they shove my flaming carcass out to sea.
    Books. Bikes. Boomsticks.

I can explain it to you. I can’t understand it for you.
