Another note on the stag grips.

Today was the first shooting session with them in place. Their thickness is standard on the centerline, but they don't taper as much toward the outter edge, so they're slightly thicker overall, but hardly the massive slabs of antler like so many grips of the type. The texture of the bark also lends a nice grippy feel. The result is a very nice fit to the hand that anchors the gun in-hand as if it grew there. Considering my arthritis, this is a big bonus and a very nice surprise. I bought them for the sex appeal, but the practical benefits are certainly value added.

Which smith and what did you have done to it?
My posts only represent my personal opinion and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or official policies of any employer, past or present. Obvious spelling errors are likely the result of an iPhone keyboard.

I bought this pistol, a birth-year Colt, from a forum member. Then I sent it off to Jim Milks at Innovative Custom Guns for a full house rebuild. Halfway through the wait, @NPV's pistol at Milks is done, and I pivot a little and simply ask Jim to Match NPV's spec, except that I want checkering instead of Chuck Rogers' golfballs. We had a little miscommunication on the bluing, but I love how the "mistake" turned out.
