I was not sure if this was a coffee pic, a 1911 and leather pic, a Land Cruiser one, or what. Honorable "almost" goes to the Opinel that is trying to sneak its way into the pic. Gotta cut those cubes of coffee packs open somehow!
I let Henry the Happy Hound go for a swim tonight and while he was digging holes and swimming in circles I brewed up a cup.
This was Henry earlier trying to tell me something...
So I gave in and made him a Happy Hound:
Then brewed up a cup while he played.

Colt Rail Gun in 9mm fresh off the bench. This belongs to a buddy. This is one of 3 I'm doing for him. This is the first one that's completely done.
Short/incomplete list of work:
-weld and re-fit factory barrel, EGW bushing
-all new ignition parts, trigger work, series 80 timing
-new grip and thumb safeties
-Chen gen 2 magwell
-Ned Christensen Shield Driver rear sight, along with slide mod to make one hand racking easier
-Custom front sight with a white ball
-New serrations that look better than factory
-Ball cuts
-Machine bevel on slide
-Complete dehorn/softening of frame and slide
The owner of the gun worked out a deal with Chuck Rogers and got the frame and Chen gen 2 magwell golfballed. Honored to get to work on a gun that's been wrenched on by the man himself.
Gun grouped really well during the test fire/sight regulation shooting. 1.5" to 3" 5 shot groups at 23 yards with different ammo.
Another one off the bench.
Started as a plain jain blued 9mm Colt.
Finished:
Parkerized guns are hard to photograph. Looks like it took a lint bath.
