What did you not like about the Floodlight, Or what do you think the Reigel does better?

That is an all business look right there. I think you will be pleasantly surprised re the all around usefulness of the "pachs." There is a reason why they were a go to for multiple high use teams/units running a 1911.

    Re going with a std GI guide-rod v. 2 piece and/or FLGR.

I was once training with a client agency and had a failure to fully extract with some agency supplied ammo. Old GI IIRC. Tap Rack Roll Assess did not dislodge. Carefully placing the recoil plug area against the edge of my barricade and getting my weight behind it dislodged the case in short order and I was back up and running. I was on the extreme left with an agency RO over my shoulder at the time and did it with his concurrence.

Data point of one. Good enough for me. I would not have been able to do that with the OEM FLGR that came with the Kimber Series I in question.

    YMMV greatly.

SVI 9x23 six-inch with Tribrid barrel and J-Point sight. Imagine a twenty-shot ported .357 Magnum with 140mm-length magazines. 124/125-grain at 1500 fps and 147-grain JHP at 1500 fps are doable with little muzzle flip but notable muzzle blast. The latter load delivers more than 575 ft-lbs of energy at fifty yards while being quite a bit below maximum and will be my deer hunting load this fall.

CMP 1911A1. 1945 Remington Rand with an Ithaca slide. Took it to the range yesterday, it ran flawlessly.

The tall front sight seems to get periodically hung up in the expanding sight track of the floodlight. The tension and the release of the Rigel is better, even if it’s not designed for my pistol.

I can’t say if a regular, railed 1911 works better in the floodlight, as I don’t own a standard railed 1911

Plus the overall footprint of the Rigel is smaller

Nice - a Loaded M1A1?? Same launch platform for the 255's??

I just picked up a Springfield "Defender" Mil Spec 1911A1 and its well built. Shoots really well with 230 gr ball. Put 250 rounds thru it today... the three dot sights are not my favorite - a black sharpie on the rear dots will fix that for now... Super impressed with a military style 1911... the short trigger and the arched MSH actually work for me! For my first SA 1911, two thumbs up!
