I took the wife to the range this morning and we put some rounds through it. Just under 100 rounds through 3 different magazines and 0 issues so far. Despite the fact that she herself only owns one gun (an M&P) she very much “likes Glocks” and dislikes “guns with hammers”. This was her first time shooting a 1911 ever. She remarked how much she liked it and how she doesn’t hate all guns with hammers anymore. So I don’t think this will be my only 1911...
She hasn’t claimed it...yet...
I’m honestly shocked that she’s actually made it out to the range with me for the past 3 sessions that I’ve made it which is a total 180 from the past 4 years. Given her preferences and desire to start getting better, I’m inclined to keep and bring hardware she’s a fan of (unfortunately no TDA pistols). Her love of 1911s may grow. If that’s the case, yikes. For now though, she seems pretty well content with Glocks which means her first might be coming sometime next year.
No school like the old school. Kimber Series I, Yonkers gun, s/n 8200ish,
VCD Grips, stairtape front strap, Wilson slip on mag well, V2 Kimber night sights.
That is all.
