For the past year I've just been falling ass-backwards into nice older Colts.
Crappy iPhone photo in fading light, but this thing is pristine (1974). There is so little wear on the breachface or the disconnector track (or the other normal wear spots) I doubt 100 rounds have gone downrange from this one.
The extractor has ZERO tension but I'll fix that. Now I have to figure out what I want to do with this one.... Price was under $900

Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for that dumb bastard.
1974 is a fine year

Let us recall where Rob began just 6 short months ago, Rob had not had a 1911-pattern pistol in his possession for nearly 8 years. His father gave him, his old Officer's Model. And a switch was flipped...
We started here:
And ended up here:
First it was simple, the 2am, dog has to go for a walk right now carry rig...
Then, a compact is fine, but a fullsize is finer...paired with Red Nichol's holster...it's art.
And the latest, this fine 2011, which can serve as a summer carry and as my competition gun.
If 2 is 1, 1 is none, then 3 is 2, and I need five more...
