So, I am most definitely not a “Kimber” guy. But this lonely, 2008-vintage LE trade-in TLE/RL II was at the shop today for less than six Benjamins. At that price, I figured it was worth saving it from another lonely night in the case. The tritium in the Mepros is dead. And the gun has some honest holster wear from riding in some cop’s rig for awhile. But the lockup is solid and the bushing fit is dead on. Trigger breaks at about 5-pounds. The checkering on the front strap is sharp.
I told my wife it was like a lost puppy. It’s too cute to throw away.
Well, I guess this old Kimber is a keeper. It passed the 10-8 extractor test out of the gate. And here are the first 16-rounds I fired through it out of a pair of fresh 47Ds, distance was 15-yards. No failures through 75 rounds today.
Just need a fresh set of sights. So I wrote to Novaks to see if their tritium adjustables will be in stock soon(ish). And I ordered a set of stocks from my favorite G10 grip maker (SGM, who makes Larry Davidson’s designs).

Not as good as @RevolverRob but good shooting for me. Working from 3-15 yards from the holster. Threw a few at 15 for sure got a little slappy with the trigger when close in but I'm happy for me.
There is definitely a little bit of a left bias, I really need to fit a medium trigger to this gun at some point.
