Thread: 1911 picture thread

Here's an old pic of a Novak (left), with a rail that was installed when they built out the pistol, and a Colt Tactical that Jim Milks added the MARS rail back in 2015. @DamonL

Novak’s has a picatinny rail adaptor that can be added to a 1911.

No other adapters for other lights have been made, to my knowledge. Currently MARS makes their version of the Dawson rail and adapter, but in the past, so have Grizzly Custom, Yost-Bonitz, and maybe Dave Lauck(?).

That first light looks like a Surefire IMPL.

What's the light in that third picture?

I believe it's just a later version of the IMPL (W117c). The older 310 and 610 used the long slide stop and the set screw that staked itself to the triggerguard for attaching to a non-railed 1911

Springfield Garrison at approximately one year and 735 rounds.

Just installed a new 10 8 Performance Low Mount rear sight to go with factory front. Thumb safety paddles seem to be burnishing a little more than I'd expect, but I do use them a lot. Overall it's holding up ok for a "beginner 1911 under $1k." I have some wear here and there, but not bad. I've touched up a few places with cold blue, but it's hard to tell since it blends well to the factory finish.

Agree! I totally worded that wrong. I only used cold blue on marks caused by my knuckle-dragger level of skill with a punch or file.

Spent some time getting to know the 1911 again. Wilson professional 9mm. Got some wood grips coming, thinking of ditching the magwell.
