There is no panic buying of .45. A man with a .45 doesn't panic.

Seriously, 45 was more availible than 9mm but still harder to find than 40,

I still couldn't find any. Plus panic prices...I pretty much broke even on my reloading press those few years.

Gun is officially finished...stainless is the new one, blued is my first ever build and my first ever 1911.

The slide and frame of the new build are PSA...the barrel is a Kart. The pistol is outstandingly accurate. I ran the 10-8 extractor test and the gun threw empties over my right shoulder...never once did a piece of brass stovepipe, fall down the magwell, fly forward, left, or in my face....all indicators of an improperly set up extractor and ejector. The trigger needs a little more work, but the gun still flat out shoots.

Turned out really nice! I'm a fan of short triggers too.

    You have excellent taste.

And you seem to make a habit of that.

Thanks, SS. After working my way into an early 90's built Wilson, I've been trading up and down to acquire more. This will be my third Wilson Colt, and I have to say that their late 80's/early 90's work is phenomenal. It's too bad they won't work on their earlier builds (they've turned me down twice).
