I actually recently isolated the few FTEs I’d had to being a handloads issue, so now I’m even happier since I can confidently say that in about 3000 rounds there are no malfs to blame on the gun.
FML. That’s exactly what I want in a carry 1911.

It’s a really neat gun, even if that’s because Brown copied Bill Wilson’s homework (well). The Glock style front sight attachment and external extractor that works keep me from getting too excited about similarly specced options. If I’m buying another 1911, it’s another one of these.

Post breakfast pic because it’s a pic thread.

Depending on your definition of that, I FIFY. With that, we should return this thread to 1911 porn.

Nah - I like 1911s themselves enough to own several but their weird tendency to make people think owning one makes them into the second coming of a John Wayne /Jeff Cooper Hybrid is annoying.

The only thing worse is scout rifle owner’s delusions of being the next Simo Häyhä.

Because this is a pic thread: Police trade in Kimber Warrior which has had some light tuning. Bushing was replaced on advice of the person who did the tuning. Skate tape was on the front strap when I got it. Otherwise stock.

Not gonna lie, pics and stories of well sorted older Kimbers keep me looking at the new ones a local pusher has because they’re nicely priced, but I can’t get the horror stories out of my head. I figure there’s a reason they’re at the price point they are.

It's a blank, that the smith shapes to the frame, then checkers. it creates grip, without protruding from the frame
