I guess I’m starting to have a “type”.

NPV - is the gun with the FCS new? I remember details for one build that was an all black 1911 with golfball texturing, but not a second one. Same smith(s)?

ETA - looking at it more I'm guessing that's a full Rogers build.

I am going to guess its a Mars Armament pistol.

It is new, well more accurately recently completed. Different smith this one is a THUG with some niceties by MARS.

Good to know THUGs are still a thing. Last I knew MARS was having some problematic response and production times (even for a custom shop), so hopefully that's turning around. I really like the concept of the THUG as a no frills custom piece.

Is Steve still building those? I'm sort of afraid to ask, but how long did it take?

He did some sight work for me back in 2008 or so before he was "known" and was quick. I've heard horror stories more recently.

I've wanted a "THUG" for about 15 years and have an original Series 70 sitting around doing nothing, but I'm terrified to send him a gun based on what I've heard recently.

I heard COVID really hit Steve hard, altered the course of his life and not for the better.
