    The previous owner installed a Ed Brown barrel. He was going to go on full-on custom, but thought better about dumping time and money into a custom build on an AO frame. So he sold it cheap on GB.

    It shoots nicely. I put in a SFS kit to try that out.

    How fiddly was the installation? I had a BHP MKIII with SFS from the factory and enjoyed it. I’ve been interested in the 1911 version but not if it’s a headache to install and get running properly.

    If you've detail-stripped a 1911 before, it's not fiddly at all. They have an installation video that, other than glossing over the fun of replacing the mainspring, is very good at taking one through the steps of the install. The only thing I'd add is to be careful unboxing it; the kit includes a plunger spring that is really easy to lose.
