Not too bad but I’m not sure I’d want to bring it to a training course and shoot 1000 rds over two days.

On another note, what grips are those?
Grips are Mad Dog Grips from MD Labs. Unfortunately, they’re no longer in business and stopped making grips years ago.

Re-upped on the 3m anti slip stair tape since that is what I had on the bench.
I have done this every few years since I got the “Truth” in 98.

I don't know why but those OG Kimber's have a special place in my heart, maybe because I was becoming a shooter when they were getting their start. So many of those guns seem to just be great shooters.
Full disclosure: I am a freelance professional photographer/cinematographer for the firearms and defense industry, among others.

The first pistol I ever bought for myself was a kimber. What a great gun

Yes it is a 1 MOA dot.

Say guys, I am very interested in hard use with .45 1911 and RMRs. I plan/want to do this to my 2008 MCOP but hoping more options start to pop up as I am not a fan of rear night sights and I want to make contact with a Safariland Rep for a potential level 3 duty holster.

I wish the RDS companies just incorporate a slightly raised rear sight notch into the body thus eliminating the machining for a separate rear sight and some one produce proper height front sights to keep the back up sights at the bottom of the optic window.

In the words from RoboCop, I'd buy that for a dollar.

Cool pic but I would have to wear my pants well below my buttocks to make that work

Safariland doesn't make any duty holsters for 5' 1911's or 2011's with dots. Blackhawk has a T series for 5" 2011 that might work.

The SAI factory guns are using Trijicon's factory mount. You might want to look at Chambers Custom

Chambers can do a low profile BUIS in front of the optic

This Colt Special Combat Government was my carry gun for several years until I recently started carrying a Commander.

Here are a couple of Colt Custom Shop guns. The Government model is a 38 Super and has been used a lot at the range lately. The Commander is a 45 and is my training/practice counterpart to my carry gun.
