Freyja dove head first into a tree trunk while chasing a squirrel and managed to put a decent gouge in her face about a quarter inch below her left eye. Docs looked at it and did some kind of dye test to the eye. They declared her hale & hearty. She looks funny with part of her face shaved and the wound scrubbed clean but it should heal up in a day or two.
I swear she has no idea she's cut. She scratched at it for about ten seconds when it happened which was the only clue I had that anything was wrong. Now she's just walking around as if everything is perfectly normal.

The dye is ferrocene, IIRC. It's like magnufluxing an eye.

My 2 kids and I met up with the rescue where I got the lighter dog today. There were about 15 sheps raising hell at the park. Great fun. You might remember the shelter pic I posted of the darker guy, Jake. He cleaned up well.
"Slurpee"... when she showed up at our house 2012/07/11.
"Harley"... she's about 5. She's also fantastically strong. Too bad she has feline cerebral palsy. Makes it hilarious for us to watch when she runs too fast... she F&F drifts around corners.
"Lyla"... in the left crate. We think she has some persian in her, she's has such LONG hair. Quietest cat in the known universe. Even when she jumps off something you can't hear her. Furry paws.
That's "Slurpee" in the right crate.
"MeowMeow"... and finally, the latest potential addition. Showed up late August/early September. We're working on socializing him and it's going well. He needs to get fixed pretty soon though I guess if we're going to keep him.
Here Slurpee is explaining the facts of life to him.
Lyla and Harley are both rescues from a local shelter.
Slurpee and MeowMeow (the kid named him!) are strays.
Cool cats, Hufnagel!
Our last stray is such an awesome cat, I can't imagine not having her. Super fun personality, super loving, super mischievous, super athletic (yet clumsy) and still a scavenger at heart. Makes for some hilarious chases around the house when she steals an entire jumbo shrimp. I love it when she needs to burn off energy and runs as fast as possible the entire length of the house back and forth, only to stumble or trip and slide into a wall at some point.
The cerebral palsy/drifting thing is hilarious!
