Put her down five years ago and it seem like only yesterday. 2019 really sucked.

Well, those would have to be AMAZING dogs, just think the best parts of both wonderful breeds! You know, we've had a fair amount of dogs in our time together, and honestly, ALL of them have been wonderful dogs but you get one, or maybe a couple of really special dogs in your life, and it's good to recognize them.
Tell ME, we lost Milo of a stroke in February of '19 and Layla a short month later of just "old dog" and maybe she just missed her Milo...
Dad you’re a good pillow.

Fred the hospice dog (see post 2536) has found several suitable napping spots, but he's got his favorites.
Indoors, Fred prefers either my 7yr old son's recliner or fold out chairs:
Outdoors, by his own choice, in stoopidly hot weather when indoor AC is readily available to him:

Was talking to my mother on the phone while sitting on the sofa with girl hound laying partly on my lap. Mom asks “how’re the dogs doing?”
Dog looks up at me
“Hey, how am I doing?”

Thunder can be tough for dogs, several of mine didnt like it, some didnt seem too worked up about it. Current new (used) dog and i were just out on the porch watching a terrific lightning storm roll in, it didnt seem to bother her, but she didnt like it when the wind came up and started raining hard and getting on the porch.
Our new habit is sitting out on the porch watching it get dark after our evening walk.

“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”
― Theodore Roosevelt
