    It does suck.
    Very much.
We've had to do it 3x now, it doesn't get any easier.
Thoughts for you, and your dog.

I know it's the right decision...to do this before she begins to suffer and lose her joy for life...but man...it sucks. (I know Mark just had to go through it as well. He and I texted the day before he walked that road.)

Think good thoughts for her. She's been a great dog and a wonderful companion. We will miss her terribly.

I once had a Skyler as well as a kid...Beautiful golden retriever and he surely left a hole in the family as well when the epilepsy got to be so bad he couldn't make a day without a terrible seizure, even on meds that flattened him and sedated him all day. I still remember my family taking him on his last walk before the trip to the vet. It was a dusty one.

I'm really sorry for your loss. It brought me some good memories to think of our good boy though. He was a loving dog to the last.

Dogs seem able to access a more perfect version of love than I can. What a blessing to have them as an example.

My heart aches for your loss, E. She was a beautiful gal to whom you gave a wonderful life. Wherever dogs go, she will still look out for you and your wife.

    You have my deepest condolences.

Thank you, friends. She was a faithful companion, as we were to her. Now she's beyond the reach of pain or suffering.

I truly appreciate the good thoughts.

Man I’m sorry for your loss Blues. The absolute worst day of having a dog. Always remember the joy and good times she brought. My condolences.
Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.

Thank you, brother. Yeah, it's gonna be a little strange around here for a while...she was the antidote to the last dog we had to let go back in 2013, Smoky, in my avatar.

    Better days.
