I want you all to meet Muffin.
Muffin is a stray we'd seen around a couple times. We started leaving out food, and she started coming regularly.
Muffin was clearly someone's cat. Muffin is a total fluffy love muffin (hence the name.)
Muffin LOVES to be brushed, petted, held, sit in our laps, etc.
Muffin will be seeing the vet soon, to check on her condition.
If Muffin checks out clean, is not chipped or not claimed by an owner, we will try and integrate her into our family.
Muffin is probably a dump job (we get that a lot as we live next to a reservation.)
If I ever find the person that dumped her..
Brought her in yesterday. She seems to be adjusting well used the litter box over night. Vet tomorrow afternoon.
Sadly Maggie the Chocolate Lab in my avatar had to cross the rainbow bridge last month. She had begun getting finicky about eating which was a major clue something was wrong. Her nickname was Irongut and she literally food bloated at least three times. My daughter who’s a vet tech looked at her and thought she had a mass in her abdomen. My vet confirmed it and thought she had a large mass on her pancreas. I held her paw and told her she was the best girl ever as she crossed. It just breaks your heart.
RIP Maggie you’re missed.

Sorry for your loss, brother. It's a hard road.
There's nothing civil about this war.
Muffin... had HIS vet appointment today.
HE... is neutered, about 3 years old, and HIS teeth are in good shape.
He has no chip, so no identifiable owner.
He has some fleas (unsurprising), some kind of intestinal parasite (he farted when the vet squeezed his abdomen, and apparently it smelled like a particular parasite.)
He was VERY good at the vet.
We have some flea and parasite meds to give him, he's to be quarantined for about a week, and we get to flea treat our other 2 cats as a precaution.
He was negative for FIV and other transmittable diseases.
He weighs about 12 pounds.
So, it looks like we're going to be a 3 cat household again.
The kid and Muffin.
