It's a good looking dog.
To be honest I am no pit fan(maybe it's just bad work experiences), but we had a dog show up at my parents. Dumped or stray, I do not know. She's a year old know, and we did one of those dog DNA test on her. I have no idea how accurate they are but it showed her to be 25% Australian Cattle Dog, 25% Border Collie, 12% Pit and a hodgepodge of other breeds. Her dominate look and personality is that of a red heeler, but you can see the Pit in her.
She's a good dog that has no aggression, but man is she full of energy. At my parents house, when we come outside, she starts working the perimeter chasing birds and looking for intruders. It's not the kind of dog I would choose, but I am glad to have her. Especially for my wife.
RIP Heidi. Best dog I ever had. Fully trained in protection. Like a chain saw on steroids. Unbelievable family pet. Stayed by my moms side through Alzheimers. I was off work for knee surgery we walked so many miles as part of my rehab. She would cry when I left the house. I doubt I could ever find another dog that good.

Sorry for the loss.
"... And miles to go before I sleep".
Yeah that’s tough; hope the kids are doing relatively ok with it.
That is sad news, UNK. I wish they could outlive us.
