This little kitten was meowing around on my front porch the other night. Well, one thing led to another and we have a cat now! Vet says likely abandoned, as he was underweight and a little scraped up. Other than that, he got a clean bill of health.

Checkers won the cat lottery by showing up at my house of all places, and has adapted to inside living quite handily. I never wanted a cat, but we all love this little guy so much.

My wife decided she wanted a dog. I wanted another Bull terrier but she vetoed that because a bull terrier would scare the grand kids. So we compromised. She picked the dog and paid for it and I would train it. She wanted a doodle dog. I smiled and ground my teeth because of my personal bias against small worthless dogs.
Said wife finally found one 400 miles away. Me subscribing to the happy wife happy life mantra cheerfully drove her to see the dog. Ten minutes after she saw the dog she paid for said puppy and we were headed home.
My wife was so happy that I could stop and browse at Grice’s gun shop in clearfield PA. Big gun store. Worth stopping if you are passing by on interstate 80
The puppy came from an Amish puppy mill in Ohio but I have to admit that she is the cutest puppy anybody could ask for.
I give you Bailey- an eight week old Cavapoo; also called Cavadoodle. She is a mix of miniature poodle and cavalier King Charles spaniel.

We felt that way for a long time, until Pippa came into our life. Now we have a squad of four little ones. To our surprise, pound for pound, they have more personality, heart, and just zest for life than any of the larger dogs we had before.

Earlier this summer, we finally found a groomer who knew how to hand strip a wire-haired dachshund's coat. The formerly-shaggy hound apparently loves his new look and feel; he milked it for *all* it was worth.

This boy just turned twelve. He got a peanut butter cake and a new Kong toy.
