Just a dog chauffeur that used to hold the dumb end of the leash.
They always lay in size order. There is another cat. But he like to be near, not in the pile. The cat in the picture thinks she is a dog.
Here's another pic of my buddy Ratbane:
His tail was busted when he first showed up in the backyard, and still bloody and raw. He also had no whiskers, and only a base coat of fur. At the time we had two females, and they could not normally stand tomcats, but he was in bad enough shape they decided to be merciful. For the first month or two he was with us my wife would come home from work and find him sleeping so soundly she was afraid he had died.
Alas, we lost him a couple of years ago to the Feline calicivirus, which is a nasty way to go.
