Is that a banana you're eating? Can I have some?

One of my favorite security assignments was working at a propane storage facility owned by Colorado Springs Utilities on the East edge of town. I would go to work for weeks on end and be the only person there.
One day Spud showed up. She was a wild fox with a gimpy right rear leg. I'm not sure an animal could process this but the perimeter fence was tight enough for her to get in but not a coyote. So as long as she was behind the fence she was safe.
I have no idea why she took to me but she did. I NEVER fed her. I would occasionally leave scraps but I would dump them along the fence and whoever got them got them. I DID always make sure there was a big bowl of water out though.
The picture where she was smelling my foot and a video where she tries to take a clipboard out of my hand were the only times she ever got within touching distance. I would be checking levels in the Propane tanks and turn around and she'd be sitting there watching me or she would walk around the fence line right behind me.
On morning I had to work from 4A to 4P and I went outside at 5A or so to watch the sun come up and she came a sat down next to me and watched it too. She had to litters of Kits while I was there and she wouldn't let them NEAR me.
The last time I saw her she was running across North Carefree down by Liberty High. That was 3 years ago and she was 6 or 7 then so I'm pretty sure she's died of old (for a fox) age by now
This is the clipboard video I don't know how to embed it

Oh and for what it's worth I was walking through the tank filled one day. I looked around she wasn't there so I just yelled "Hey Spud!" And she came running. From that point on her name was Spud and she answered to it
