Got Bueller out today for grouse. Put up one bird but he was long into the trees before the gun got up. He did remarkably well for 6mo-ish old. He generally listened well to commands, tacked the edges of the forest roads as directed, didn’t chase the whitetails we walked up on, and finally drank from a water bottle...even sat still while I propped the phone on a log for a pic. I call it a win. A bit windy today, but the temps have been cooler from what they have been. Hoping to get him out again the next few afternoons chore list permitting. It’s been a long number of years since I’ve been bird hunting. I forgot how enjoyable it was.
