To one of our own who's recently suffered a loss, you have my condolences.
(I'm being deliberately vague, and I'll let the person in question chime in when they chose to do so.)
@blues is that a boxer pit cross?
@Willard
We don't know for certain but it's one of a very few options. We thought maybe Boxer / Staffie...but the truth of it is, I've seen so many dogs that look like her that are attributed to various mixes that it's all speculation.
I think you're close though. She's a sweet girl. About 55 lbs. We rescued her at the Humane Society about 6 1/2 years ago after Smoky, the Weimaraner in my avatar, departed this mortal coil. (I've not quite gotten over that yet.)

There's nothing civil about this war.
We've scheduled a vet to come to our house and down our pup of 17 years down. We did the same for our cat almost exactly a year ago. My wife is in shambles.

Sincerest condolences. Losing loved ones -- whether human or animal -- is never easy.
The shit is just crazy, Astro has been gone since 2010 and it still gets a little dusty when I think about it. And Seth came to us a few years later but probably after he had already lived probably half his life, but he is still going strong, even though he has lived about as long as Astro did.
One of the later pics of my buddy Astro:
