So here is what I found upon disassembly.

This isn't a working service is it? Deformation on top of the sear.

Also the double click is cause by the trigger by moving to the right initially then resetting further out.

Do you guys notice a double click on the reset? The first one is just when you let off but does not allow the true reset, second click is further forward.

No, that is not a working surface on the M&P sear. Nothing to worry about at all, IMO. (I've owned & studied M&P's for nine years.)

Optics Planet finally charged my card for the backordered strait 8's I ordered 2 months ago. Hoping that means they'll finally ship.

It didn't really need it as my 2.0c 's trigger was pretty good right out of the box, but I put the Apex duty trigger kit in mine, and it made it noticeably better in every way. I also like the Apex trigger shoe better than the factory hinged one and it moved the break aproximately .100" further forward. Easily is as accurate as my Gen 5 G19

Cast mark seems normal, can't replicate the reset issue on two other 2.0s or my gen 1 shield.

I have two 2.0s and two 1st gens and they don't have that reset issue either. S&W's customer service has always treated me well. I'd give em a call and see what they say. They might ask you to send it in.
