    I'm not sure why, but I really like the idea of this rifle. I like my Ruger GSR but I don't shoot it a lot because .308 is double the price of 7.62x39 and the recoil is quite a bit more. This rifle really interests me from a practical perspective. And 7.62x39 is no slouch in the hunting department. Definitely on my radar and would go nicely with a LPV.

    Are you comparing ammunition of similar quality? Over here, the surplus 7.62x39 I see for sale is inaccurate and corrosive... Once you get to the stuff that's non-corrosive and decently accurate, the price difference between that and bulk .308 gets depressingly small in the places I can buy ammo from.

    Yeah. I have a bunch of Golden Tiger 7.62x39 ammo stocked away and that's ~$.23/round. 147-150gr. FMJ .308 is anywhere from ~$.45-.50/round.
