Never even heard of them until this thread. Let me ask you a couple things. 1) what is the rifle for? and 2) what does the Black Rain offer that known manufacturers do not?
My go to answer for an AR is a Smith M&P15 Sport II for a budget gun or a Colt 6920 for a couple hundred more but that's assuming you want a HD gun or something.

I've been in possession of a couple for, I guess evaluation (I don't remember which models, but I ran a couple hundred rounds through each)... and thought they were really overpriced for what you are getting.
Was not impressed.
If I was going to spend that much on a rifle, Black Rain wouldn't even be in my top 8 choices.
