*THE* Gen 5 Glock thread: First Impressions, Reviews and Thoughts

Are we at a consensus on whether or not the .165 or .180 front sight is the correct height for tip of the blade at 25 yards with 147 grain ammo? I've got a set of the gen 5 specific dawsons on one of my gen 5 17s and the front sight is .235 tall and the rear is .225 tall and they're spot on for me.

Curious if there's a simple way to figure out what size sights would give me the same impact from ameriglo.

I’m a nobody, but I have a 0.180” on my G19.5 and it shoots POI=POA for cover dot with HST 147.

My G26.5 has a 0.165” currently. It shoots a bit high.

So at least ‘for me’ the 0.180” seems to be the way to go.

Rich, thank you. What are you pairing the front with as far as rear height? I’m looking for a tcap .120 front and a Defoor style all black rear for the pistol.

My G19.5 has stock height black rears and the G26.5 has Glock OEM night sights which I am pretty sure (they look the same as the G19 rears) Are also at stock height.

No worries.

I shot The Test last weekend with Speer Lawman 115. I’m told this is pretty zippy ammo, and my score was a PB; 97-4X.



Not great by standards of this forum (I yanked one for a fail) but I am pretty happy with this sight combo.

The honest truth for glocks and sight height is you just don’t know until you try, and ammo matters sometimes too.

My Glock 19.5 has Defoor night sights and is POA/POI with the tip of the front sight at 25 yards with 147 gr HST and 124 gr +p gold dot.

My 17.5 has gen 5 specific Dawson sights and hits the same as the 19 with gold dot but is about 2 inches higher with HST.

Every Glock is pretty much its own case.

Has anyone actually seen one of these? It almost looks more low profile than the OEM.
