I believe the real reason their earlier Police Carbine failed is because they only took Ruger 9 and 40 magazines.

If they'd had the foresight and issued them with Glock and Beretta compatible receivers they'd have sold a lot more.

Our patrol division was still carrying P94DC .40s and the decision was made to issue the carbines to some of them and also the detective division in the late 1990s, perhaps in order to delay our gradual issuance of Colt 5.56 systems which began c. 2008-09.
