When I competed more, I use to get "sample" bottles of the latest gun oil. They all work, when I run out of "gun" oil, I will used some Mobil1. I also like Slide Glide grease.

Very interesting article on the subject:

I loved FrogLube for constant use firearms, quit using it due to gummy nature when stored for longer periods of time. I refused to use FClean when I found out they'd hyped it up without ever performing cold weather testing.

Slip2k 725 and EWL for all my stuff.

I'm a simple person, Breakfree CLP. While I wouldn't hesitate to use Mobil 1, a quart of that will last for years taking up space whereas the CLP comes in nice small packaging and is easier to apply.

For a carry gun I use grease (using Lucas red n tacky now and for the foreseeable future), it doesn't fall out of the gun after awhile like CLP.

I use generic moly grease on slide rails and certain other places (hammer/bolt sliding areas etc). Lightweight synthetic motor oil everywhere else.
