I have a few different vests. The one that I seem to like quite a bit is the Israeli Bodyguard Jacket. I ordered one size larger than I usually wear as other reviewers mentioned that it ran small...and I am glad that I did as it would not have fit had I not done so.

Hmm, that looks like an interesting one. Does it have interior pockets?

Thanks for that link. I just ordered a black one -- should be good for classes and such.

The one I have has one small inside pocket about the size of a shirt pocket.

That's too few and too little for me, sadly.

I don't remember interior pockets as I use it only as a cover garment and don't stick stuff in the pockets (if there are any pockets). I will check later when I get home and let you know.

I like this one by propper as it doesn't look "tactical"

Now and then I want to try wearing a casual vest again, with something like those linked above. Alas, heat retention is generally an issue. The less granola-y vests are also generally cut a bit higher up front, which doesn't always pair well with an inverted knife up front. Perhaps you can pull it off better than I!
I'm actually a fairly avid "vest wearer" and prefer dressier vests like those you linked here. When I do wear those, I go with a non-metallic knife and suspend it from the inside liner using a clothespin and paracord. I'll let it dangle so the handle is just above the hem of the vest.

I have a very similar cover-up shirt I've used for a very long time and I like it a lot. I wear it when it's not 90+ degrees outside, otherwise black is just too hot.

It's definitely more like a general fleece/softshell vest. I have several, but I prefer my vests cut without a collar. I have a 17-17.5" neck that is all of about 4" long...so collars tend to not fit me very well.

I wear vests all the time. Woolrich has some good ones for cooler weather.

My favorite summer weight ones are these from Magellans:
