G17 w/RMR07 AIWB from Fricke Seraphim holster under a long shirt and soft shell TNF vest at 7 yds.

    5.96 sec, 5.69 sec (-2), 5.45 sec (-1), 5.97 sec (-1), 6.08 sec (-1), 5.59 sec (-1) = 34.73 sec (-6).

Interestingly, almost all my misses were a touch low on the first 3x5 card I engaged.

Since I was not happy with the consistent missed shots, I chose to shoot the DOW again using an M&P45--got essentially the same results...

This was another really fun drill. Beyond my skills, yes, but doing these is keeping my range visits very challenging and interesting.

    My report:
    • Distance: 5 yd
    • Starting position: Ready position
    • Time and hits for each string
      1. 12.82 s, 6/8
      2. 11.1 s, 6/8
      3. 10.55 s, 4/8
      4. 14.5 s, 7/8
      5. 10.88 s, 5/8
      6. 11.98 s, 4/8
    • Aggregate time and hits for all six strings: 71.83 s, 32/48

I have a pretty good idea why I had so many misses (just rushing too much). But I was out of time and out of ammo, so I didn't run it again.

    Thanks!

I was a little rushed here and did a horrible job managing my ammo. I ran empty in the middle of a string a couple of times, and just ran with a surprise emergency reload - that's the middle number in the 3-number strings below. The gear was a G19RTF2 in a VMII under a button-down shirt w/ bottom button open, with reloads from a CCC BMC. Nice to be doing the DotW again. =)

    • distance: 7yd
    • starting position: concealed
    • strings
      1. 2.55/6.11 -2H
      2. 1.90/3.34/10.52
      3. 2.34/7.54
      4. 2.59/3.96/9.41 -1B
      5. 2.56/6.72 -1H
      6. 3.14/6.60
    • aggregate: 46.90 44/48 (-3H -1B)

This was a good day at the range for me. I should also say that some of these times are best estimate, in the sense that I had to pick out what I thought were my times from a slew of times on the timer... since there was an AR10 in the lane next to me, setting the timer off quite a bit. These times are pretty close, where they're not spot on. I was also a little remiss in jotting down the misses - I just jotted them all down at the end of all the strings. So, some of the 3x5 misses might be on different runs than posted above - this is my best guess based on my chicken scratch.

@ mariadsantana ...... I have somewhat of a solution when I run into the loud range problem. I bring several strips of the aggresive double sided tape (the kind that you can stick a brick to a wall) and place a pad over the sensor. I have the pocket pro 2 and the sensor and mic are in the same area so this does also muffle the start beep as well. This seems to block out almost everything but the AR10 next to you.... but with a little timing and kind words that can be mitigated as well.

Great idea! I'll start another thread to see what others do in this situation.
