I've probably owned a dozen J-Frames over the years but most have gone by the wayside, with just a few remaining as sentimental pieces. The pragmatist in me dictates that my pocket .380's take their place as a matter of course.

When S&W started reintroducing the Centennial series of revolvers in 1990, I gobbled up this early Model 640 (.38 Special). It left my custody for over a decade, but I was fortunate enough to buy it back.

Shortly after the 640 came out, the Model 442 was introduced and I added one of those to my inventory. It got carried daily as a 2nd gun when I was on-duty and the factory finish quickly wore off. About that time, Walt Birdsong (RIP) had recently started offering Black-T to the public, so I sent it off to him for a new coat of paint. I don't have any pics of it since it's not mine anymore ..... I surrendered it to my daughter some years ago when she graduated from college and started living on her own. She won't give it back.

The path of least resistance will seldom get you where you need to be.

    Three J's

Top: SW 632 in 327 Mag, SS Comp'ed and with Fiber optic front sight and White U rear.

Left bottom - 642 with CT grip

Right bottom - 432 in 32 HR Mag.

If two images come out, one upside down - I'm sorry. The editor seems to like that.

I currently on have one J. A 442 in Electroless Nickle. Anything that I used to use a J for, now gets done with a Glock 43...I still won't get rid of it though.

Sounds like we need to see a new picture of that gun.
